How I Do It

I've gotten a lot of questions recently about how I am able to update so frequently, and if I work or if I just sit on Craigslist all day. So let me banish the myths!

Yes, I do work. I have a full-time job as a Graphic Designer and Coordinator of Online Media (I monitor and manage social media). That being said, I obviously do not have time to work on Found&Found during the day, and if I did, it would just be unethical.

So - I basically peruse Craigslist at night and in the morning before work and I schedule tweets throughout the day. I use TweetDeck (and occasionally HootSuite if I'm on my iPad) to do this, and you'll notice they are almost always on the :15 and :45 of an hour. Sometimes I also use my lunch break to schedule some more, if I wasn't able to get enough to cover the day.

I usually schedule them until 5:15pm or 5:45pm, unless there are just a lot of amazing deals and I'll keep going until I can't anymore (they've been scheduled until 10pm at one point!). If it really gets crazy and there are just THAT many great deals, I'll start scheduling them every fifteen minutes instead of every thirty.. But I prefer not to blow up your Twitter feed more than I already do, so usually I just try to narrow it down to the very, very best.

So, no, I am not a crazy loon who sits around staring at Craigslist waiting for it to refresh. :) I'm sure you're all very relieved for my sanity! :)

And, no, I do not manually update the F&F Twitter feed every thirty minutes. I would go insane, and you are sweet to worry about me.

That being said, I apologize if any of the scheduled tweets have items that are sold by the time they are posted. I try to schedule in order of posting, so the least recent begin the day, and the most recent end it.

I hope that clears up any misconceptions, and I hope you continue to enjoy Found&Found!
